Early Christmas

So tonight Leina is celebrating early Christmas. I have no new news from her today, but let me speculate what is going down. Why early Christmas? Well, she has an uncle, who shall remain anonymous, who can't be around for real Christmas. I should rephrase that, won't be around for real Christmas. He is going to hang out with some friends in L.A. or S.D. or S.B. or somewhere on Christmas day, so Leina's family has so generously decided to have an early Christmas for it.

Leina baked a cake, and it was peppermint. She used the Kitchenaid she borrowed from her Auntie. And she used the brand new, multi-colored, Crate and Barrel measuring cups that Erica gave her yesterday to bake it (like that hyperlink? you can see her exact present)!

They had a nice meal with turkey and some sushi and Japanese curry and then they gave the little babies a lot of cash and a few toys because Noriko's apartment is too small to fit any more toys. They sat around telling some stories, and then they went home. There was much oohing and aahing about how big Yuto has gotten in the past few weeks. Then Leina went home and called Erica on the way to give the update. She's thinking about coming into Berkeley tomorrow morning early so Tony can teach her how to drive a stick, but she probably won't make it.

Thrilled to read that Leina
received such a practical gift from Erica for Xmas (great colors on the measuring cups and it will match her kitchen perfectly). Leina is novice baker and doesn't have all the baking supplies.(Hint... Leina's b-day is coming up in Jan and I don't think she has measuring spoons)
